Summer camps: the treasure hunt

The theme: a treasure hunt

We're setting out to find treasure hidden around Barcelona. The inspiration comes from the international game called geocaching.

We prepare a visit to somewhere interesting where we'll find a treasure by following clues. The place gives us plenty to work with, so we stay all day and come back at lunchtime.

This year the challenge is to set up a trail of caches in Parc de la Pegaso. Working with the residents' group La Pegaso Batega, we'll hide our caches along a route through the park and press for it to be cleaned up and properly used.

The week's activities are cooking, board games, crafts and treasure hunting in the parks.

There is no camp in September.

Hours and prices

We think the best schedule, where a child enjoys it most without feeling they've spent too long away from home, is 9am to 3pm. Getting up early enough to arrive at nine isn't compulsory, but some parents' jobs make it necessary. And finishing at three works well, because once they've eaten and rested it's time to head home.

• 9am–3pm: €90 per child per week
• Two siblings: €80 each
• Early drop-off, 8–9am: €3 per child
• Late pick-up, 3–5pm: €4 per child
• If adults want to eat with us: special price of €5

Groups of 15 children maximum per session, with 9 needed to run a group. Ages 4 to 12. Sustainable lunch included, of course.
