How it started
It started from families wanting their children to eat well. Since food cooked in bulk in central kitchens for large groups didn't give the quality they wanted, families organised themselves and built the idea that later became a co-operative.
What we believe, straight up
- Food is education. Whoever decides what goes on the plate decides a great deal more.
- Local is not a label: it means knowing who grows the food and paying them properly.
- Children deserve respect, including at the table and including when they won't eat.
- A co-operative shares what it earns among the people who work, not the people who invest.
- Integral ecology is a tool for social change, not a marketing adjective.
The farmers' market
We run a farmers' market in Plaça de Masadas so that local producers can sell directly in the neighbourhood. With no middlemen, the farmer is paid what the work is worth and the buyer knows who picked it.
You'll find garden produce, preserves, juices with no added sugar, jams and rescued varieties such as the ganxet bean. Currently run by the XES social economy network.

We are members of Coop57 and of the social-market distributor Quèviure, of the Catalan Federation of Workers' Co-operatives and of the Barcelona + Sostenible map.

Questions about the co-operative
What does workers' co-operative mean?
That the co-operative is non-profit, that any surplus is reinvested in the project and that the work has a recognised social purpose. There are no shareholders taking profits out.
Do you work with public bodies?
Yes. We have experience with facilities and organisations in the Sant Andreu district and can bid for tenders with social clauses.
Where do you buy your produce?
Directly from farmers and co-operatives in the Vallès, the Maresme and the Penedès, and through direct-sale networks such as Quèviure.
Can we support the project?
Yes: by booking our services, spreading the word, taking part in the farmers' market or collaborating with us directly.
